About Kyra
Kyra Alana began her singing at a young age in school and local musicals and advanced & honors sections of school choirs. In college she began collaborating in occasional studio-recordings with local & regional artists and singing weekly at a local Jazz jam. Her vocal style is largely influenced by Jazz artists such as Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, & Chet Baker, but her inspiration comes from a much wider range of personal favorites spanning diverse artists such as Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Billie Holiday, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, The JoeDai Warriors, Don McClean, Vampire Weekend, The Ink Spots, Planet P Project, Adam Cohen, Anjani Thomas, Madeleine Peyroux, Hush Lane, James Darren, Ruth Wallis, Katie Melua, Billy Joel and Blossom Dearie.
